It all started about 3 years ago. I had a Christmas gift from a close friend, I unwrapped the gift to find a small Ted Baker Box. Inside were 3 small pots, one orange, one green and one pink. A trio of lip balms. Vanilla, Berry, and Blackberry. The packaging way lovely but I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t expecting anything great. How wrong was I?! Usually, I only ever use half a lip balm then forget about it or get bored of it, resulting in throwing it away. However, I’d used one pot and before I knew it I was onto the next. I’d actually finished one! I’d got through all 3. I then found out it came in a large single tub, so I purchased it. The description says ‘notes of red fruit and bergamot, whilst the base of patchouli and tuberose completes the scent’. I personally think it smells more like vanilla cupcakes, but maybe that’s just me.
I don’t wear this so much in the day as I tend to wear lipstick, but putting a tiny bit on before a matte lipstick really stops my lips from feeling dry throughout the day, and because it’s a thick balm and it’s not shiny, it doesn’t affect the matte finish of the lipstick. But without fail, I put this on before I go to bed, every single night. It’s become a bit of a ritual! I wouldn’t go anywhere without packing it for overnight. It’s quite a thick balm so it doesn’t slide off or sink in straight away. I usually wake up and it’s still on my lips. Yep, it’s that good. My lips are so soft and pouty in the morning.
This Christmas I was lucky enough to get a second trio from another friend who knows how obsessed I am with it. This time the packaging was all rose gold, one Vanilla, one Berry and one Blackberry as like the other trio. I really hope Ted Baker don’t stop selling this product because I really would be lost without it. I’ve never found a balm as good as this. It’s actually on a ‘buy one, get one half price’ offer in Boots at the moment. £7 for two. Get in my basket!
Let me know if you have tried it and what you think. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. On that note, I’m off to apply my lip balm!
